How to Manualy Configure Eudora Light to Check Email

Eudora Light is provided by FrogNet on the EZ Internet Setup CD-ROM. Follow these instructions to set up your e-mail box.

  1. Open Eudora

    Click Tools-Options

  2. Click "Tools" across the top.

  3. Click "Options" from the list.

Getting Started settings for Eudora Light

  4. Click "Getting Started" on the left side.

  5. Under "POP account" you have several possibilities...

If your email address ends in @frognet.net like joefrog@frognet.net, then you need to enter the first half of your email address plus @pop.frognet.net. The first half is everything BEFORE and NOT INCLUDING the @ symbol in your email address. So joefrog@frognet.net would enter joefrog@pop.frognet.net for the user name

If you are hosting a virtual domain on FrogNet, you can set up Eudora to check the email on your virtual domain by setting the account name to the ENTIRE EMAIL address that you want to check plus "@pop.frognet.net". BUT, you need to change the @ in your email addres to a % sign. For example,if you are hosting mydomain.com on frognet, and you want to check the postmaster@mydomain.com email account, then you set the user name to postmaster%mydomain.com@pop.frognet.net

  6. Type in your name as you would like it to appear on outgoing e-mail under "Real Name".

  7. Under "Return Address", enter your email address (all small letters).

    Hosts settings for Eudora Light

  8. Click "Hosts" from the list to the left.

  9. Under "SMTP" type in smtp.frognet.net (all small letters).

Checking Mail settings for Eudora Light

  10. Click "Checking Mail" from the list to the left.

  11. Put a check next to "Save password" if you would like the program to remember your password.

  12. Click "OK" to save the settings and exit the Options menu.
