This tutorial describes in detail how to connect your Macintosh computer running the OS8 operating system to FrogNet for the FIRST TIME. It is intended for new customers, or current customers who are trying to connect a new machine to FrogNet for the FIRST TIME.
Open your Hard Drive.

Open the "Assistants" folder

Double click on the "Internet Setup Assistant"

Select: Update.

Read the Introduction. Click once on the Right Arrow at the bottom right of the window.

Select "Add Internet configuration" and Click the Right Arrow button once.

Set the "Configuration Name" to "FrogNet." Select: Modem. Click the Right Arrow button once.


Please use our POP MAP to locate a local phone number.Pick one that is close to you and that you know is local. If you aren't sure which number is local to you, call and ask your telephone service provider. FrogNet is not responsible for long distance charges that you incur.
Enter your FrogNet Username and Password. Look closely at the username that you entered. It should look like an email address. If your username is joefrog, then your username on this screen should look like joefrog@frognet.net if it doesn't add @frognet.net to the username. If you do not know what your frognet username is, look at your last bill. It will be listed as frognet login, account name, or username. Click Next.
Click the Right Arrow at the bottom of the page button once.


Leave the Domain Name Servers blank. For "Domain Name", enter frognet.net. Now click the Right Arrow button once.



Newsgroup Host Computer Enter: news.frognet.net Now click the Right Arrow button once.

Conclusion If you want to test your connection, leave the Connect when finished box checked.

Click on the Go Ahead button. You're all done!
