This tutorial describes in detail how to connect your Macintosh computer running the OSX operating system to FrogNet for the FIRST TIME. It is intended for new customers, or current customers who are trying to connect a new machine to FrogNet for the FIRST TIME.
To begin setting up your FrogNet connection, click on the Apple menu, and select "System Preferences..."

Once the System Preferences window loads, click on "Network" to load the Network Preferences.

In the Network Preferences pane, set location to "Automatic," and set Show to "Internal Modem." Set Configure to "use PPP." The "Domain Name Servers" should be left blank. The "Search Domain" should be blank as well. When you've entered this, click on the "PPP" tab.

In the PPP tab, Service Provider should be "FrogNet" Use FrogNet's POP Map to find a telephone number. The Account name is your FrogNett account name, and the password is your FrogNet password. If you don't want to have to type in your password everytime you connect, check the "save password" box.
Look closely at the username that you entered. It should look like an email address. If your username is joefrog, then your username on this screen should look like joefrog@frognet.net if it doesn't add @frognet.net to the username. If you do not know what your frognet username is, look at your last bill. It will be listed as frognet login, account name, or username.

If you would like to change the PPP options, click on the "PPP Options" button, and make changes there. If you want to automatically connect to FrogNet when you open your web browser, or email program, or any TCP/IP application, make sure that "Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications" is checked. If it's unchecked, you will have to connect manually using the Internet Connect application. Click "OK" to exit PPP Options.

By default, the proxy settings tab is blank. FrogNet does not require proxy settings. Leave these blank.

If you ever need to change your internal modem protocol from V90 to V34, you would do so by clicking on the "Modem:" pulldown menu, and selecting "Apple Internal 56k Modem(V.34)." Make sure that the modem is set to "tone" dialing instead of "pulse."

Once you are all through configuring the network preferences, click on "Apply Now" and close the window.
