Netscape allows you to check multiple email accounts via user profiles. Each profile can have it's own email account, and user links.

How To Configure Multiple Profiles In Netscape

Netscape allows you to check multiple email accounts via user profiles. Each profile can have it's own email account, and Links.

This help file assumes that you are running Netscape Communicator (version 4.x or higher)

Please be sure that Netscape is closed before starting

  1. Click "Start" from Windows.

  2. Click "Programs".

  3. Click "Netscape Communicator".

  4. Click "Utilities"

  5. Click "User Profile Manager"

    Click *New* on the Profile Manager

  6. Click "New..."

    Enter name and email in Profile Manager

  7. Click "Next" at the bottom of the next screen.

  8. Enter your name as you want it to appear on your outgoing messages under "Full Name"

  9. Enter your email address (in small letters!) under "Email Address"

  10. Click "Next" at the bottom of the screen.

  11. Leave the "Profile Name" and storage directory alone. Click "Next" at the bottom to continue.

  12. For "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server", type in smtp.frognet.net (in small letters).

  13. Click "Next"

  14. For "Mail server user name", enter only your login name, which is the first part of your email address, in small letters.

  15. For "Incoming Mail Server", type in pop.frognet.net (in small letters).

  16. Leave the "Server Type" as POP3.

  17. Click "Next" at the bottom of the screen.

  18. For "News (NNTP) Server", use news.frognet.net (all small letters)

  19. Leave everything else on this screen as it is, and click "Finish" at the bottom to save the new profile settings.

  20. Netscape will now start in the new profile, which will allow for separate email, bookmarks, homepages, and other settings. You may repeat these steps as often as you like, in order to create more profiles.
