FrogNet does not provide tech support for other company's hardware.

  6. You do not need to specify an area code, because you are not making a long distance call, so leave the Area Code field blank (or erase anything that is there). See our list of national phone numbers and select the local phone number closest to you. If don't know if a number is local, please call your phone company and confirm that number you picked is indeed billed as a local call. Click "Next"

  7. Click "Finish" to close the wizard. You should now see the "Dial-Up Networking" window. If you do not, repeat steps 2 and 3 and return to this step. In the "Dial-Up Networking" window right-click once on the "FrogNet" icon which you just created, and select Properties from the popup menu. A new window will appear.

  8. Click on "Server Types". This will appear as a button (in the bottom, right hand corner of the window) on older versions of Windows95; in newer systems it will appear as a tab (in the top, middle of the window). In the Allowed Network Protocols box, uncheck "NetBEUI" and "IPX/SPX compatible". Make sure that TCP/IP is the only protocol with a check in it's box. Then click on the "TCP/IP Settings..." button.

  9. In the TCP/IP Settings window, click on "Server assigned IP address" and verify that there is a black dot next to it. Do the same for "Server assigned name server addresses" and leave all other settings as they are. Click on the OK button until you get back to the Dial-Up Networking window.

  10. In the Dial-Up Networking window, use the left mouse button to double click on the FrogNet icon. A new window will appear...

  11. Look closely at the username. It should look like an email address. If your username is joefrog, then your username on this screen should look like joefrog@frognet.net if it doesn't add @frognet.net to the username. If you do not know what your frognet username is, look at your last bill. It will be listed as frognet login, account name, or username.

  12. If security isn't an issue then you may want to place a check mark by "Save Password" if it isn't already checked.

  13. Verify that the phone number is correct, and click on Connect to get connected!
