Your FrogNet Dial-Up Account allows you to connect to FrogNet from thousands of locations around the United States. This tutorial will help Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP users manually change the phone number and username so that you can establish a dial-up connection to FrogNet.
This tutorial is intended for CURRENT FrogNet
customers who have made successful connections to FrogNet in the past.
This tutorial is NOT intended for NEW CUSTOMERS who
have yet to make a successful connection to FrogNet. New customers can
visit our help
page for manual setup instructions, or just give us a call at
888.593.3764 and a representative will walk you through the set
up.
Turn on your computer. Wait for windows to finish loading.
Using your LEFT mouse button, double click on the "My Computer"
icon which is usually located in the upper left hand
corner of the Windows desktop. The "My Computer" window will open.
Double click on "Dialup Networking" to open the Dialup Networking window...
Using the RIGHT mouse button, click once on your "FrogNet" connection. A pop-up menu will appear...
Using the LEFT mouse button, click on "Properties" and the FrogNet Properties window will appear...
Change the phone number. See our list
of national phone numbers if you're not sure which dial-up
number to use. You do
not need to enter the AREA CODE since the number your computer is
dialing should be a LOCAL CALL. Remove the area code if one is
listed. FrogNet is not responsible for long distance
charges. Please contact your local telephone service provider to
ensure the dial-up number you've chosen is a toll-free call from your
location.
Click "OK".
You should now be back in the "Dialup Networking" window.
Using the LEFT mouse button, double click on the icon for your
FrogNet
connection. The "Connect to FrogNet" window should open.
Look closely at the username. It should look like an email
address. If your username is joefrog, then
your username on this screen should look like joefrog@frognet.net.
If it does not, add @frognet.net to your
username.
Verify that the password is entered. (You should see a bunch of X’s or *'s if the password is typed in)
Click "Connect" and you should connect with the new settings.

Turn on your computer. Wait for windows to finish loading.
Click on the "Start" button. Then select "Settings". Then select "Dial-Up Networking".

Double click on "Dial-Up Networking"

Using the RIGHT mouse button, click once on the icon for your "FrogNet" connection. A pop-up menu will appear with several options listed.

Use the LEFT mouse button to select "Properties" on the pop-up menu.
Under the General tab, uncheck the "Use area code and Dialing
Properties" checkbox if it is checked. Change the phone number. See our
list of national phone numbers if
you're not sure which one to use. You do not need to enter the AREA
CODE
since the number your computer is dialing should be a LOCAL CALL.
Remove the area code if one is listed. FrogNet is not responsible for
long distance charges. Please contact
your local telephone service provider to ensure the dial-up number
you've chosen is a toll-free call from your location.

Click "OK"
Double click on your FrogNet connection.
Look closely at the username. It should look like an email
address. If your username is joefrog, then
your username on this screen should look like joefrog@frognet.net.
If it does not, add @frognet.net to the
username.

Click connect and you should be able to connect with the new
settings.

Select
->Settings->Control Panel and your
Control Panel window will appear...
Double click on the icon for "Network and Dialup Connections"
You may have to scroll down to find it. The
contents
of the Control Panel are listed alphabetically by default. Once you
double click on the icon, a new window will appear...

Use the RIGHT mouse button to click once on the FrogNet icon. A popup menu will appear...
Using your LEFT mouse button, select "Connect" on the dropdown
menu. Your Connect to FrogNet window should open...
Change the phone number. See our list of national phone numbers if you are not sure which number to use. Click on the START button. Then select "Control Panel".

The Control Panel window should now be open and asking you to pick a category. Select the "Network and Internet Connections" category.

Now it should ask to either Pick a Task or Pick a Control Panel icon. We want to pick the Control Panel icon called "Network Connections".

Use the RIGHT mouse button to click once on the FrogNet icon. A pop-up menu will appear...

Using your LEFT mouse button, select "Properties" on the dropdown menu.

In the FrogNet properties window, change the phone number. See
our list of national phone numbers
if you are not sure which number to use. You do not need to enter the
AREA

If Windows asks "Make the phone number change permanent?" answer "Yes"
This should connect you with the new settings.
