Signal Hill eroding away against EPA orders

The Environmental Protection Agency earlier this year issued orders that the developer of the golf course on signal hill, between the Hocking River and 682 north of Whites Mill, plant grass seed and take other corrective measures to stop the massive erosion that dumps directly into the Hocking River just above where the city of Athens gets its drinking water.

This unecessary golf course and development would shatter the integrity of the 800 acre Signal Hill area, an area rich in Native American findings.  These few last forests that surround Athens and keep the city such a wonderful place to live are being logged and developed at a devastating pace.  The forests are ever going.  How much longer may we view the colorful array of the forest's autumn glory from the hills around our home?
