3.18 Love Is A Many Blundered Thing

It's Valentine's Day and Fran actually has a date with Jeff the Cop (from episode 3.8 The Party's Over)! She encourages Maxwell to get into the spirit of the day by asking someone out as well. When she later discovers an anonymous Valentines Day card in her purse asking to meet her for ice cream, Fran assumes it's from Mr. Sheffield. Unfortunately, she overreacts with the reciprocal card she sends him. Written by: Dan and Jay Amernick. Jeff The Cop: Kane Picoy, Tommy: Michael Bacall, Waiters: Bob Bancroft, Richard Tanner, Kent Davis.

Our responses (29) gave the episode a 8.2 overall, a 8.3 for the comedy, and a 8.6 for romance.

This episode was pretty good. I didn't really go for the kid's crush on Fran and Brighton's punishment. Stll, the ending was good, as was Fran's admittance that she loves Mr. Sheffield. Even though Val was the one that said it... :)

I LOVED IT ! MY FAVORITE PART IS WHEN FRAN IS TRYING TO PAINT OVER THE 50FT SIGN TO MR. SHEFFIELD, AND THEN ANDREW LOYYLD WEBBER CALLED MR. SHEFFIELD. IT WAS SO FUNNY.

I liked the end!!! Very good!!!!

There are so many good parts in this one: Fran waiting for her secret admirer & then finding out it's Tommy; Val & Fran on the platform checking out the party - lots of cute guys... get phone numbers - they're all gay.... get recipes LOL; Max & Niles snickering while imagining Fran meeting Tommy and of course the ending where Max grabs CC's valentine present - poor old CC & brings it to Fran high up on the billboard - ahh romance. Now if only that pesky rescue squad hadn't interrupted them ;-)

I love the part where Fran is on a rush to make it to her double date. I think it is really romantic when Max goes up to get Fran. Love this ep!

This is a GOOD episode (the cops coming at the end keep it from being great!)! There were funny moments sprinkled throughout- Fran's trick at the bus stop re: the fake apt. (Val is so-o-o gullible!), C.C. paying Niles to disappear & him not doing it, Max & Niles giggling like a couple of yentas re: Fran's 'date', but the highlight was definitely at the end. When Max shows up at the billboard with the basket, he is letting Fran know (once again indirectly), that he loves HER. One question I have every time I see this ep: How does the basket move from the end of the billboard to end up right beside Max when they sit down without him ever going to get it?

This was a really cute episode. I love the scene where Maxwell takes the basket from CC and takes it to share with Fran!

very funny, one of my favorites....

This was a great episode, really cute. "well i don't like him if he don't like me" My favorite line was Max saying " being up here reminds me again what valentines day is all about", OVER HER MR SHEFFIELD! " oh yes i meant the sign" Great episode.

We are waiting for the kiss and it is´nt happen ! But I am sure this is one of the funniest episodes I´ve seen. Congratulations to the team of nanny.

this episode was hilarious especially the way that fran rushes to get to the ice cream parlor only to find out that her date was one of Brighton's friends! I thought it was really sweet of her to give mr. Sheffield that great big valentine even though he didn't ask her out .

A very funny and romantic episode (especially the end!). I love the scene where Fran tries to coordinate her two dates to come not too late to her more important date with Maxwell. Of course I love the end, where everyone can see that Maxwell loves Fran. And Val is so incredible congenial stupid!Love this episode!

One of the all time great quotable lines is in this one: "It doesn't mattaa". I find myself saying that a LOT, but I just can't match the great inflection in her voice as she says it. Love the whole billboard scene, especially the girls trying to get a better look at the apartment across the way and admiring the Lone Ranger mask.

oh my, i loved it its a very romantic ep., so oobviosly, it voke me up neverlet go ever since. how can you not love it!!!!!!!!!!!

Great ep! I love the 'It doesn't matter!' when Val forgets the paint *grin* Aaah...shame the cops came!

a valentines story was of course the perfect occasion for a fran/max-romantic episode.another time fran and max went around each other without any chance to get a happy end yet.for me it seemed that it was the first plot in which fran clearly showed that she had fallen in love for maxwell.there were a lot of things before, but not without any reason she mentioned that she "only like him when he liked her".i think this line was very important.maybe it was sad that max did nothing romantic for fran on his own.naturally i liked the hings happening in the windows while fran, val and max were on the roof(why did it not influenced max and fran a little bit more!?),also niles who was sulky,as max told him not everything he wanted and frans 'formula one rendevouz'.on the other side it wasn't very funny that brighton's friend tommy became fran's secret admirer.at all i believe that the end was a wonderful metaphor for the love-story.the rescue team did not rescue fran and max,but the tension of the love-story..it rescued a premature happy end, although the prevented kiss(they should have given fran and max this moment)showed what they (now both) were feeling.

I love the show~

I very much like this episode. My favourite scene is the one when Maxwell takes C.C.´s valentine present and leaves the office, so that C.C. is there all alone and Niles switches off the lights. I love C.C.´s reaction: "Niles!!!!"

I agree -- shame about the cops, but then it was just one more step in the many steps Fran and Max are taking! A classic 'Val' episode -- from the apartment to the 'remember - 3'. Also loved the scene in the Italian Restaurant with Jeff. He needed to be on the show a few more times, I think.

I only come in here now every once in awhile, and how great it is to see one of my absolute faves on when I do come back. This was just a classic ep, definitely one of the best

I LOVE IT!!!!!! I love the part when Max and Fran are in the billboard, and fran´s card, Hu, Ha!! So cool, I will do the same thing with my boy!! What can I say? VERY ROMANTIC AND FUNNY; I JUST LOVE EVERY SINGLE PART!!

I thought this was one of the Nany's worst episodes.

3.19 Your Feets Are Too Big

Fran's old foot modeling agency is having a reunion, making her worry about showing her age. When she discovers her feet have gone up a size, she really gets depressed. But things look up when Mr. Sheffield volunteers to be her escort. Written by: Sally Lapiduss. Dr. Roberts: John Astin, Shoe Salesman: John Glen Bishop, Photographer: Steve Posner, Model: Athena Stensland

Our responses (34) gave the episode a 8.7 overall, a 8.6 for the comedy, and a 8.6 for romance.

love max and fran...

One of my favourite episodes!Very funny and romantic. Love the scene in which Fran´s dream seems to become reality. I really enjoy the moment when Niles put some shoe polish on C.C´s face. And the kissing scene between Maxwell and Fran is so romantic. They are really the perfect couple.

This is one of the most romantic epis. I love the scene when Fran is lying on the couch and Max comes to wake her up. Still remainable is the kiss.

This is one of my favorite episodes. I just loved how she was dreaming of Mr. Sheffield and how it really came true. The funniest part was the second time around when he did not kiss her, she said "Go Back, Go Back, tooo far, too far!!" when Sylvia walked in.

I loved this episode!! I thought the whole concept about how her feet were too big and the reunion and everything else was great!! One of my favorites from the third season!!

This is one of my all-time favorite episodes. I could watch that French kiss over and over, even if it was a dream. How nice of the writers to give the audience some of what we were dreaming of back in the third season. I have even taped it twice in case something happens to one of the tapes.

This is one of my favorites, from John Astin as the doctor, to the dream :) to Max's "one man mop-top British invasion!" Only sad note was Gracie's fear at the end that Fran would die, but I can forgive that with the other twenty minutes of pure laughter.

I absolutely love this episode! When she is in the dream sequence. Wow!

I have to agree with everything so far.... and add Niles' "spiffing" (I can't think of another word here) Max up with the "and if all else fails, what would Pierce Brosnan do?" lines! One of my favorites as well -- although I can remember how disappointed I was the first time I saw it when the kiss was only a 'Dream' Great song choice, too, Barb!

I really liked this episode, especially the kiss...!!!

I LOVE IT!!! It was really great, I don´t know how can the writors write such a wonderful stuff!! I love every single part.

I just loved that dream and how it almost became reality!!!

good, very good

This is a great ep. Good use of all the characters. Loved the dream sequence. Fran and her mom "You're a beautiful woman, I hope to look as good as you when I'm your age." "You will!" "Can nothing be done?!?!" Grace's panic attack in the shoe store "Fran my feet went up a whole size. My arms are flabby...I'm turning into your mother!" And the birth of Nanny Math;-) "When you're 20...I'll be forty..."

oh my god, this is such a good ep. i relly did like it. you know, its all getting cuter and nicer, and funnier, a and more romantic each time. the nanny is just great

fran is so lovely

What a great episode! Starting with Sylvia's "Meanwhile, you'll never see another Jehovah's Witness in our building!" to Max's '..one-man, mop-top British invasion..', LOL from start to finish! The dream within a dream was a very clever idea, and then to have it replayed almost exactly in real life was hilarious! The Pierce Brosnan comparison to Max was one of 3 that I can think of ("An Offer She Can't Refuse" and "The Pearls"- all in the third season). Last of all, Fran's expression when CC sat up with her 'new look' was priceless.

I loved this one. From Max's vanity to Fran's insecurities. The Fran and Max dream sequence and the near replay after it were terrific. Another favorite bit was CC in the mustache and goatee announcing she had a date and Fran's deadpan reply: I hope it's in The Village. LOL.

the first impression of " Your Feets Are Too Big "referd to one of this totally chaotic stories which irrelevant plots were the reason for a lot of fun in typical Nanny manner.elements of this impression were for example fran's mad analysis of sylvia's way through new york, niles' and fran's talk about the connection of small feet and other 'body parts' and the look of fran without the usual high heels(she was much smaller then ,wasn't she?).but suprisingly the episode developed to a very good fran/max episode, mainly because of this excellent dream visions.could one recognize the first one ,a dream in the dream(!!!),as a phantasy at the end,the second one (on the sofa)was not really known as a dream,as fran and max could manage this situation the same way in reality.but exactly in the moment i started to cheer about the kiss(did fran used her tongue or am i completely wrong?),i got suprised once more.the suprise about all this got even be better when frans draem seamed to become true.but sadly and as another typical style of the series, the real maxwell was not able to overcome himself, like the dream max did.you can say withot a problem that one suprise was followed by the next.the usual work of niles to get max nearer to fran (how could max missunderstand this?)and also niles'little painting lesson on cc that put him the prank in the face did the rest that "Your Feet Are To Big" was at all not only a good but an excellent episode.

Really good ep. (well, actually, all episodes are great). I found it very romantic, especially the dream scene. But there was a lot of fun in it as well.

I loved the kiss!!!!!

This ep was totally awesome!! But let me ask you something? Were they making out or what? I noticed she stuck her tongue out a little. But I guess I am just meticulous. Anywho I really loved it. I everybody looked great!

i loved this episode because it was one of those times when you're just really wishing for 'the thing' but the teasing is enough to keep you going. it's actually one of my faves, especially the bit with the bigfoot dream!!!

3.20 Where's The Pearls?

Fran is estatic to learn that Elizabeth Taylor will be visiting the house. While she is there, Liz enlists Fran to deliver her black pearl necklace to a photo shoot. On the way, Fran consoles her depressed cab driver Cossette, whose short stop at a traffic light causes Fran to bonk her head, giving her amnesia and losing the pearls. (The storyline continued in all four CBS sitcoms that aired that night.) Written by: Frank Lombardi. Elizabeth Taylor as herself, Cossette: Rosie O'Donnell, Doctor: Steve Blackwood, Nurse: Casey Williams.

Have you ever seen the tag that aired only the original time this was on that closed out all four sitcoms and tied the storyline together? Be sure to visit the Moments Page for this episode to download a Real Video of the rare scene.

Our responses (29) gave the episode a 8.5 overall, a 8.5 for the comedy, and a 7.4 for romance.

I LOVED this episode!! It's an important classic, you know, like when Lucy and Ethel worked at the candy factory!!!!! The episode is great!! I love the tub scene!!! One of my favorites!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a great one !! It was so funny when Fran goes in the Bath with Max and thinks their Married. This one of the very best!!!

I tought this ep was cute. I love the bathroom scene with Fran and Max. I just downloaded that scene and that was cute too. I just a little sad I missed watching the Nanny and I didnt find out how great is it until it was too late. Well I will keep watching and recording in the wonderful world of Syndication!!

Great one! Loved Max trying to trick Fran, and then poor CC blurting it out. Niles' trip to the living room was hillarious. Yetta "The two oldest are from a previous marriage." "Happy Tenth Anniversary darling"...oh why did he have to tell her the truth. Barb, thanks for the tag and the music is perfect!

I really liked this episode, but when the did the re-run they cut out that whole splashing fight in the tub.

One of my favorite scenes of the entire series is in this one. Fran and Max in the jacuzzi. I cracked up when Max is trying to explain who she is & Fran mistakenly thinks she's a hooker: 'well that explains my shoes'. LOL Also loved it when later in the scene, Niles walks in on them splashing. Daniel Davis affects such a perfect look of smug satisfaction when he tells CC why Max can't take the phone.

its a prette good ep. i especiall liked the scene in the bath tub. the nanny rules thank you!

I loved the Jacuzzi scene in this episode!! I also thought the taxi ride with Cossette was very funny! Love this one!

I just love Sylvia´s tribute to Elizabeth Taylor. The best part is Fran and Max in the tub, I think it was really romantic. In resume, is a great ep!

I love the nanny..

" Where's The Pearls " was like the last weeks show a really good one.this was not only since of the great guest stars (i think with e.taylor,r.o'donnell and f.drescher met three of the most eccentric divas of tv-land),but also because of this phantastic bath scene.for me this scene was very much the same like the sofa scene one week before:another little piece in the huge love-story-puzzle.in addition to this fact it was a good occasion for the next cheerful flirt of the two lovers.i liked to see how maxwell enjoyed the chance of being together with his 'wife' for a few seconds.(why did he have to be honest so soon!?).they(the authors)should have used this longer as maxwell was not allowed to point out his feelings to the real fran.(he certainly was angry with himself that he had his eyes closed when fran steped into the pool!!).niles' appearance at the bath and also the line to cc was,of course,a necessity of this scene.for the comedy part i liked frans retorical question how a human beeing with a voice like that could handle life.ok -- she got her own sitcom and became a sex-symbol and superstar!!there was also this great line of fran in which she wonders that although she wore that sexy clothes there had not be anything between her and maxwell.yes this is really unbelievable, isn't it? but maybe anything isn't the right word.not at least i laughed about max attempt to get fran out of the house, her return, sylvia and yetta in the wardrobe, fran's reference to ALF and niles' dog problem.at the end i have to say that i really wonder about another comparison of max(charles)and pierce brosnan.doesn't he rather look like richard gere?(despite the fact that the whole Nanny-idea has some clear things in common with Pretty Woman)

In retrospect, this was truly a classic episode! Several of the good lines/scenes have already been recounted here, but there were so many more! C.C. getting so nervous when meeting Liz was hysterical because she's usually so blasie about things. Niles' entrance with tea was also hilarious: "Oh, Tiss Maylor, I'm Biles the Nutler. (pause-looks at Fran) That's not right, is it?" When Max tells Liz to follow the nutler without missing a beat, LOL! A sweet moment between Fran & Yetta when Fran's in the hospital. (Followed by a very simple yet VERY funny line!) Max showed just how well he knew Fran by the rules he set for her to follow- esp. the small but containable fire or no emergencies with the children. All in all, GREAT episode!

You have to the love the tub scene.

It was great!

Loved the jacuzzi scene -- who didn't! Cosette was another LOL person and the Liz section was OK. Wasn't it a part of a promo all night on CBS???? I guess she was needed for the 'pearls'. Everyone except Charlie falling apart around her was funny -- Niles, CC, Fran, Sylvia.

My favorite scene is in the cab with Cosette. 'Does it say wheelchair crossing?!' LOL! I also love Max's 'Just follow the nutler...' and Sylvia's 'You have bestowed upon me...' speech :-D Liz was not exactly an animated guest star but the rest of the cast made up for it. A well-written, fast-paced ep.

funny the part with Rosie, the bathtub, the breakfast with the family, love it

Everything's pretty much been said, (it's finals week, I'm behind in my web-surfing :) but I loved this ep. One thing that hasn't been mentioned that always bugs me when I watch it is: If the children left for school an hour ago ("It's a Clear Day...") why does Gracie run out right after that? ("Ow I think I broke my arm!) Still, this was just one in a long string of better-than-usual Nanny eps. Kudos to Frank Lombardi and the rest of the crew and cast!

This entire episode had funny lines all the way through it by every character. Don't think I could pick a favorite.

wow i think thats a good ep. i especially liked the scene in the bath-tub. niles was so funny!!!!!!!

okay, okay. so elizabeth taylor was just an excuse for more people to watch an already brilliant show(and for sylvia to do her "charm" stunt!) but what i loved about this ep. was the Rosie O'Donnell scene. That was classic, and highly funny of course. but Fran as always shone in this. i'm glad putting liz in didn't ruin that.

One the the best! I LOVE the nanny! All the episodes are funny, but this one was just GREAT!

3.21 The Hockey Show

Fran is excited to have a date with hockey star Mike LaVoe, but she soon discovers that his obsessions with 'lucky charms' is more that she bargained for. She wants to break up with him, but Mr. Sheffield and Brighton convince her to hold off till after the big game. If only she hadn't worn her new red shoes to the arena! Written by: Robbie Schwartz. Mike LaVoe: Anthony Addabbo, Ron Greshner as himself, Announcer: John Davidson (the real announcer for the Rangers), Waiter: Jeff Mooring.

Our responses (34) gave the episode a 7.6 overall, a 8.0 for the comedy, and a 6.3 for romance.
Some comments received were:

Th strip act was great!! Iloved this epos. It was great at the reustraunt with shrimp and the seven things a night !! A fav mine

I loved this ep. It is definitly one of my favorites! I loved the part when Fran overhears Max telling Niles how he threw darts at the picture of her head. P.S. I love the music Barb!

you know, all the nanny ep-ods are just amasing, and this one was good, too. that was so fuunny when fran came to the lockeroom. i also loved the hockey-game part the nanny is just so much fun!!!!

This was not one of my favorites, although it had some very funny moments!

I just love the part where Fran starts to sing like Babs. I like this episode, it is zany.

Real funny episode especially the dinner scene with mike as she notice that he is a little bit strange because of his superstition. The best scene for me is as Fran thinks that she is Barbra Streisand in the hockey stadion! I also like the moment when maxwell tells niles that he had a couple of beers instead of talkin about the jinx business with mike and suddenly Fran appears in the background. A good one with a lot of humour!

Very funny eposide! My favorite line is when Sylvia explains why she's taking so calmly the fact that one of the most famous Ny bachelors announced that Fran is jinx. "This is why I'm sedated", says Sylvia.

one of my fav episodes, especially the locker room scene.

This ep is not one of my favorites. The superstitions were plain silly, although arguing who had the best nickname ('pal', 'buddy', 'boss' or 'sexy thing') was kinda cute. As Niles commented, this is the first time I remember Max actually being excited about one of Fran's dates in a long time. The whole basket of shoes and the guilt trip Fran put on Max re: the dart game made it seem like they were already married.

I liked this one --- especially because in this one Max was 'starstruck'! His reaction to Mike was very similar to Fran's reactions to all the theater/movie/TV stars Max dealt with daily. I also liked how he and Brighton both got so macho in front of Mike!
The strip scene was funny. As to superstitions - they do exist with sportmen of all types. (Some sportswomen too, I'd imagine!)

For me this was a rather average episode. The funniest part was Max telling Niles about his evening at the bar and Fran overhearing it. The rest was not bad, but not extremely good either.

This is not my favorite, but I love them all! The best part is the strip tease and the best line is "Margret, what kind of car would you want to drive if you were Miss Fine?" "Uh, My husbands!"

I LOVE FRAN SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL

I thought that this episode was pretty good-the stripping scene was hilarious- but I have to admit that I'm a sucker for Fran and Max romance, and this on didn't have too much of that. Overall, though, it was a cute, comedic episode

well the romance wasn't there...which was kinda disappointing, but they made up for that by having all the comedy in it...when max came back to the house and was talking about throwing darts at Fran's picture...that was so funny

I love everythink if her love, sow....this it my favoryte episode !!!!!

there were,no doubts, better episodes than "The Hockey Show",but nevertheless it was ok.above all i liked the jokes about the sometimes very exaggerated superstitions of sport stars.as an european guy who is,of course, interested in soccer(hey my favourite team bayern munich,i have no doubt you know them, took the championship yesterday)i do not know if mike lavoe is a real icehockey player, but i think Wayne Gretzky(who is even here in europe a big star)would have been a great guest star.besides this crazy scenes with fran and mike in which fran had to deal with mike's superstitions,i also enjoyed maxwell's childlike admiration for the sport guys.man, he really showed some emotions!another spectacular thing was frans question to mike what he also did seven times an evening and her statement that mike scored four times because of her and everyone thought of a completely other 'score' than goals.one also had to mention niles line to cc concerning a date of her and the time it would last and niles' word concerning max' waffle.on the other side frans babra imitation might have been original but in my eyes also very embarrasing.the funniest and best scene in " The Hockey Show " was(could it been another scene!?)cc stained with all that eggs.and if this wasn't enough niles appeared and mentioned that the others had thrown eggs too.that was soooooooooooo great.as a male fan(and as always so in love with fran drescher)i would not have been angry about some more fran-strip-action.ok,ok i know very sexist!

3.22 That's Mid-Life

Maxwell's latest show has gone belly up and he is really depressed about it this time. Then when Fran beats him at tennis, his morale sinks even lower. He deals with his mid life crisis by going for a younger hippier look complete with a new Porsche. Written by: Caryn Lucas. Monica Seles as herself, Dr. Joyce Brothers as herself, Doctor's Assistant: Sue Goodman, Dottie: Dee Dee Rescher, Girl On The Street: Mariah O'Brien, Chester.

Our responses (22) gave the episode a 7.6 overall, a 7.8 for the comedy, and a 7.4 for romance.
Some comments received were:

I remember the first time I saw this one thinking to myself, what a great neighborhood Fran used to live in, you can walk down the street and take fruit from a venders stand and just say thanks...Ha! Great song, Frank Sinatra's "That's Life" also could of fit here as well.

i loved this ep! as a whole it isn't that bad. but hoo-hah, when charlie came down the kitchen's back stairs in those jeans! i swore i almost fell off the sofa; i had to pick my eyes up off the carpet! need i say more???

This was okay!! I would see it once and once only!!

Overall I liked this one. Fav. parts include: Niles' glee at Fran slaughtering Max's English touchas at tennis and Max overhearing and asking for some cream of English touchas soup - Niles' touchas; Maggie begging Fran to help her get out of going to Tower records with her dad and Max dying his gray streak much to Fran's indignation: 'You dyed your gray streak ! I caused it and it was mine to remove' LOL ( By the way do you think Charles could breathe in those jeans ;-)The last act with Fran and Max talking outside of Sylvia's building was good too. 'Am I bleeding ? - no it's just raspberry filling' and Max's memories of his awful childhood were funny in a sad sort of way. It was nice to see Fran restore his confidence in himself in spite of his disfunctional upbringing.

i thought this episode was great. i just love the nanny. i wish she was still on the air.

When Maxwell walks through the kitchen in those jeans and that tight shirt! OH MY!

there is no reason to mention very much about " That's Mid-Life " ,since the story was too banal in most parts.maxwells midlife-crisis was not exciting it could have been in a more romantic story with fran.so there were only a few funny things.for example max' pity for himself that in the same way picked on the poor niles and gracie's analysis of her father's proplems.above all i enjoyed that fran left her original role as a nanny for the next time to help max with his midlife-crisis,very much more like a wife than a domestic servant.no doubt very romantic but not so romantic to create a good episode("Shopaholic" was the best example that it could have been better).maybe it would have been intersting to keep max in his new youth for a few episodes:more action for the love story!in the end i have to say that fran's allusions concerning max and herself were also some good lines.as it was not a real romantic episode, despite that 'almost kiss' at the end,we only saw this 'car-metaphor-orgasm' in the last scene.

This episode holds a special place in my heart because it's my "I'm hooked" episode. I watched the scene on the steps and realized that they really intended for the Fran/Max relationship to go someplace. Fran was Max's "Nanny" too. And I sooo wanted to hear that speech at the end agian that I vowed to start taping episodes from that moment on. (Besides, I couldn't BELIEVE I had heard Fran saying she'd tell Max that Mags was pregnant. It was one of the first forays into a straight sex joke instead of all double entendres and I wanted to clap my hands over my daughters ears. At least the car part she didn't get.) Anyway, I thought this was a very romantic episode for the period of time it was on. Third season=baby steps. Maxwell was interested in her and went to her in Queens to tell his troubles to. If he didn't care about her, he would have told Niles.

Nice episode!

oh, yea, a goody. im not even surprised any more when the nanny delightes me with those good, romantic ep-ods. thank you

I liked how Fran raised the question of who had really had the priviledged childhood. Max, with all his money and upbringing had not and Fran in her home in Queens surrounded by love had. It was an honest look at their lives. Very touching scene as they walked and talked in Fran's neighborhood. They were finally starting to get closer on a personal level--a hint of things to come.

I only can say that I almost had a heart attack as I saw Max in those sexy black t-shirt and jeans. Wow!

I think the scene with the discussion of the 'privileged upbringing' was one of the better 'serious' scenes done in the show and, yes, Max looked good in the jeans (although I prefer him in his 3 piece suits!). Otherwise, this episode was just OK.

This was not one of my favorite episodes, although seeing Max in jeans and a t-shirt definitely made it worth watching! The scene in the kitchen with Fran & Niles re: ages was cute ("..I believe I killed someone who pretended to be in her 20's!"). The best line in the whole show was Max to B when B said Fran had even taught him a few things- M:"What? Like how to return a serve without the receipt?" LOL! Also, right after Fran & Niles' talk, when C.C. comes in, Niles wouldn't let up on her- (message on ans. mach./Congratulations!;What will I do/lick the spoon; not much call for civil war nurses). I almost felt sorry for her (I said almost!!)

THIS WAS A GREAT EP. FRAN WAS GREAT. SHE WAS VERY FUNNY. CHARLES WAS SO FINE IN THAT TIGHT SHIRT AND TIGHT BLUE JEANS. HE LOOKED GOOD!!! I LOVED THE PART WITH THE POCSHE WITH ALL THE SEXUAL INUENDOES. VERY SASSY. ALL AROUND LOVED IT!!

3.23 The Cantor Show

There is a new cantor at the Temple, and Fran and her mother are eager to make his aquaintance. Fran and Gary start dating and Fran has hopes of a bright future together. But when Mr. Sheffield hears Gary sing, he offers him a part in his latest show. His career takes off, leaving Fran behind. Written by: Diane Wilk. Burt Bacharach as himself, Gary Issacs: Philip Casnoff, Sarah: Magda Harout, Rabbi: Manny Kleinmuntz, Helen Verbit, Maria Elena Maglaris.

Our responses (27) gave the episode a 7.4 overall, a 7.5 for the comedy, and a 5.8 for romance.
Some comments received were:

It could be more romantic! C.C. and Niles look at each other, enjoying the song, but they (she, mainly), look away too quickly. And Maxwell doesn't care very much about Fran and his "future particular-singer". The parts of Fran's mother and the "Jewish God", and Niles and the sweets are very funny.

It was funny and charming in it's own way. Always liked burt bacharch and his music. Seems like fran was the only romantic one in the show. Max didn't seem to be worried about fran & gary's relationship, he was so pre-occupied with his play(as usual).

When I saw this episode I loved the part where Sylvia and Fran were in the apartment at the party and Gary said that he had an "announcement" to make, Fran and Sylvia assuming it was a marriage proposal. I was laughing when they found out that his big "announcement" was the fact that he was leaving the temple to pursue a career on Broadway. When I saw the look on their faces I was thinking ha. . .ha . .ha . .haha, your not getting married to him, You shouldn't be so presumptuous!

This was a pretty good episode

Not one of my favorites from the third season, but a funny one!!

nice ep! Love when the Rabbi messes up with the food at Sylvia´s house

Was Maxwell the opposite of interested in this one or what? What a letdown from the episode before it when things were looking up romantically. Had this aired in the first or second season, I would have expected the stone cold Maxwell, but at this point it was jarring.

Loved this episode. I think it was both very funny and romantic. The favorite moments: donation of the refund for the luggage to the temple; "Send me a doctor"; Cantor that announces his decision to go to the Broadway whereas Fine women think that he is proposing; Gracie that tells Fran that she looks like Julia Child instead of saying that she looks like Julia Roberts.

What do I think of the cantor show? Not Much.

Didn't like this one much. I can't really work out why, though. Maybe because it all seemed artificial. The scenes with the Rabbi and the furniture were the best!

" The Cantor Show " was the usual Nanny entertainment without the big highlights.it was ok,not more and not less than that.suprisingly one missed not only the important things in the story, but also the very big laughs.not even some good words from niles and a long appearance of sylvia could prevent that fact.but maybe i only think so,as the fourth season was so excellent yet.since of the average episode i have to make another excursion to the look of fran drescher.(please do not blame me for my childlike admiration for this beautiful woman.)she looked sooooo great:young, slim and full of energy----more sexy than every other woman i know! and for another time i couldn't believe that she had changed so much in contrsat to the first and parts of the second season.......hhm maybe i should call these comments "my personal be mad about fran drescher times"?

I just love this one. Excellent plot, Sylvia at her best.

Unfortunately, the funniest line of this episode was the first one- "I'm taking Maggie and Grace with me to temple because I think they should see how people of other religions- pick up men." Outside of that, it wasn't that great. I agree with the other posts that Max was almost totally uncaring in this one. The times he showed any jealousy at all were very brief- once when Gary finished singing to Fran and Max took her away from Gary, and when Fran mentioned 'engagement ring' and Max interrupted. Overall, not their best effort.

The Nanny is really really funny

3.24 Green Card

This was a great eposide!! I loved the CaCa!! THis was very Funny!! I love this show !! The chemistey between Fran and Max Is So cool!! That was a great Kiss also!! From a Fran Fan!! Shes #1

I love this episode!! It's really one of my favorites, the whole concept with Phillipe and he being against englishmen and then Maxwell sticking up for himself and Fran is just great!!!!!

Very funny ep! Loved how jealous Maxwell was about the whole situation. Especially loved, "kissing an english man is like kissing your mother" and then Max plants that kiss on Fran...HOO-HAA! :o)

oh, that'ne is good, oh yeah!! you know the kiss at the end.. oh i love it! now just give me somehting else as good as that, and i am going to start crying.. oh yeah!!!!!

This was a very funny episode, I loved the arguing between Max and Philipe, but I especially loved the scene where Sylvia was talking to Philipe and was shouting and using her hands like he couldn't hear her! What a decision......Max or Philipe? We all should have such an issue to face!

I thought this ep was a great one. The whole Ca.Ca. thing was hilarious! And the bickering between the Maxwell and that french guy was just so darn cute! But Maxwell was cuter of course!

Max´s and Fran´s kiss is the best of this episode, and the "Je t´aime" thing with Fran closing the door is the best of all.

I loved this episode, it was the BEST!

This is one of my favorite episodes. It's filled with many great lines, that whole Max and Fran exchange of kisses was fantastic and having someone finally notice what a hot babe CC Babcock is, was great to see!

I loved Maxwell's reactions to Phillippe's insults: "Your Queen looks like a man".... "the only good thing to come out of England was Andrew Lloyd Weber" and of course: " Kissing an Englishman is like kissing your mother". As Fran learned, obviously NOT ! LOL. Overall a very enjoyable episode.

It was just a great one!!! And that kiss!!!! wow!!!

i loved the kiss between max and fran... and the jealousy between Max was so funny.

Very good ep.! I especially liked the whole "fight" between Max and Philippe. This was jealousy at its best! And that kiss between Max and Fran - wow! I don't believe he just did it because of Philippe's "Kissing an Englishman is like kissing your mother". All in all a very romantic episode, that didn't leave out the fun as well.

I tought this episode was one of the best!!! The caca part was funny but not as funny as the part when Fran gets je't adore confused with shut the door! But lets honest if I didn't know french I too would have probably gotten confused! I love this episode, just as much as I do fran and maxwell

You have to love it to have two men that look like Mr Sheffield and Phillip fighting over you. I like to kiss an Englishman like that.

I loved the guy who played Philippe, I don't know if any of you have seen "Sex and Mrs. X" It was on Lifetime about a month ago, Paolo Seganti was in it and man-oh-man, was he HOT! But Maxwell would still be my choice!

i think it is very difficult to comment on "Green Card".on the one hand the type of story was not new,but on the other hand there were also some parts that had made great progress.so in my eyes it was very important to see that fran knew max' feelings for her at this moment.this was shown by a lot of words and gestures.for example fran's finding that the right woman(or she)would not see max' point the right woman would understand him if he wants more time.the other scene that proofed this was in max' office, when fran reproached max with the fact that he did not express his feelings for her.i think it was a very good idea to let fran act a way she first knew max feelings and second also showed her feelings for him.after one had seen the seasons finale you can also see that as a kind of preparation for it.as always niles took a huge part in this romance,as he ,after he had informed himself with the intercom(the flu!!)and pane cleaning a'la niles, helped fran and max with this trick to the wonderful romantic moment.the great kiss of fran and max and the way niles 'used' cc were an extra bonus.the funny shares were, despite of the fact that the romance took main parts, also very good.so fran's 'way of handling'the french language, the kittchen scene concerning max' children and sluts who care for them, the usual niles /cc lines,cc's imitation of frans nasal voice and of course fran's line that she had dreamed something like this once when she stayed in the max/philippe sand which.

No matter what, every single episode of "The Nanny" is the most hiliarious, romantic, thrilling episodes in television history! I love you, Fran!! You're the greatest! You and Charles both! Love to you both!

I've just loved this ep. !!! It's absolutely loving seeing Maxwell so jealous !! And that scene ... "Oh yeah? How about this?!" Wow !! What a kiss!!! I love when they kiss , most of all , when are 'stollen' kisses !!!

I love the jealousy shown by Max! And kissing Fran to prove a point is sooooo cute...

This one rates as one of my all-time favorites. It's got a bit of everything in it and just hearing 'Je t'adore' at anytime makes me break out in giggles.

It is so funny i´m from germany and I think your german voice is very nice!!

Many of my comments regarding this episode have been made in earlier posts, and I agree with all of them! This was a GREAT ep! A couple things to add (OK, maybe 3), I also thought Sylvia's charade bit was hilarious as well as Max's "jealous dance" when he asks Niles if he's ever heard such rot and repeats the line about an 'explosion of love' in such a snotty way as he makes faces at the same time. Also, I loved the way Niles played CC like a radio (again!) when he found out about CaCa's no-no in the kitchen and convinced her it would make her so attractive to Max if Max found out. He (Niles) knew what we saw was exactly what would happen because he knows both Max and C.C. so well. Great episode!

I thought this was a great episode. The usual Niles and C.C. coments were hillarious as well as Maxwell's jealousy over Fran, and the kiss at the end was so cute.

I'd give the romantic aspect a 9 just for the kiss near the end between Max and Fran. Max's response to the line about "kissing an Englishman is like kissing your mother" was great!

I just love your show! It is the best!

I guess this is probably a good ep. but I can't stand the guy who plays Phillipe and find it hard to see past that.

3.25 Ship Of Frans

Fran is excited about her upcoming cruise hoping that she will meet the "man of her dreams" on board. All her talk sets Maxwell's jealousy aflame and he decides the entire family should go on the cruise too, ostensibly as a celebration of Brighton's confirmation. Written by: Diane Wilk. Steve Goodman: David Starzyk.

i totally enjoyed this ep! it spawned some excellent fan fic that i've read. everything was well done. tens across the board!!! LOL!

An all time favorite! Max and Yetta and that swimsuit. The family scenes on the beach. Niles and CC. Dancing on water! This one had it all.

I love this ep. I think it´s one of my favorites. I love the way Max tries to get Fran ( even if he denied it) I love to see guys like that. LOL the song hot hot hot part, It was funny and romantic. Bout Niles and C.C., I think this is the episode when Niles realizes that he can´t live without C.C.

Loved it, loved it, loved it! Truly a Nanny classic. Had comedy, ROMANCE, hoo-haa!! :o)

I love this episode is one of my favourites!!! Love the part where all the family is at the beach, it is great. The classic line is:" are you a good or bad witch"

Max and Fran were hot on the dance floor...!! Max was look fabulous as always...and this was a great episode...go Max..!

loved the whole thing about "dancing on water with the man of my dreams" it was a nice touch carried throught the eppy

Oy, this was too funny!! I loved Max being totally jealous all the time. if only he would have got his tuchaus in gear!! :)

Just gotta repond to this one, as it's one of my all time favorite episodes! From Max's fear that he will lose Fran & his jealousy when she meets someone, the LOL bits with Sylvia & Grandma Yetta, Niles' proccupation with his lucky streak & it's apparent cause ("Papa needs a new pair of oven mits!" LOL), all the wonderfully romantic shots of Max & Fran's walk on the beach & sharing the sunset together later on deck, to that HOT dance! A superbly done episode.

I really liked this ep. I thought it was a great idea that Max wanted brighton confermation on the cruise and thought the day at the beach was great. And I loved the dance seen and think Max is the man of any woman's dream!

I loved thes ep.C.C being Niles lucky charm and Yetta's reason why her and C.C. didn't need the suite was so funny. The scenes of the family on the beach were great!!!!!

I LOVE "THE NANNY" Show`s And i like every singel movey of "THE NANNY"! So my answer is: YES, OF COURS I LIKE THIS ONE TO!!!!

One of my favourites!I love it! It is to be regarded so sweetly, how Maxwell is jealous and sets everything to it, that he doesn´t loose Fran to another man, for example than he booked the same ship cruise as Fran or looks her up on the whole ship. Also the scene is merry as he finds her near the pool and asks her after the alarm installation just as she beginns to know her dreamboy. One notices also the mutual interest beginning of Niles and C.C. as they are together at the play desk and he her asks, what for a witch she is. One of the most beautiful sequences, that is natural, when the whole family makes the land trip. Very romantic! The view of Maxwell is so lovely as Fran took off her hot Pants before his eyes. And finally we can see both hardly dressed! Oh, Mr. Sheffield! One notices also like Maxwell sadly and jealous is, when Fran speaks of her dream prince , with whom she over the water will dance. Beside the land trip my absolute favourite scene is the common dance scene - and the music!! One of the merriest and most romantic episodes!I saw it consecutively approximately ten times!

I love this episode !!! C.C. looked so beautiful when she helped Niles to win !!!

I thought it was funny when Fran said to Maxwell"You are just so full of suprises."

This was a great eposide!! This was a very funny one with the mambo. Fran and Max Are #1!! This website is Number#1

Great Ep!, It's one of my many favorites. Very funny, very romantic, if it wasn't clear that Max needs Fran yet, then this ep sure makes it clear. Very Hot!

One word for this episode...and that is HOT..! Max was looking excellent as always...and the dance was great...at that point you could tll that Max really would do any thing for Fran

IT WAS A VERY INTERESTING EPIDSODE I ENJOYED WATCHING IT AND BOY COULD FRAN AND MAXWELL DANCE! they looked so cute together it was a nice and romantic episode i just loved it

This was definitely one of the best eps ever! Before they left the mansion, when Niles said to tell HER how THEY feel, and Max said then she'd think he was talking about himself, was that Max's way of indirectly admitting his feelings about Fran? Max's jealous streak continued (from Green Card) in this episode was so-o-o adorable! He followed Fran around like a shadow, but Fran didn't seem to mind! The beach scene with just Fran & Max was the best! (They surely had to suspect even then there was something between them). For being on vac. w/Val, she sure spent an awful lot of time with Max and the kids. Fran seemed to recover quickly from her disappointment with Steve 'cause she and Max were HOT!HOT!HOT! on the dance floor! Whether he wanted to admit it or not, I think this is the first ep Max realized he was truly in love. Best line: (from Niles to C.C.): This from a woman whose flip-flops could transport refugees from Cuba! LOL!

Eu amo todos os episódeos de THE NANNY!!! Eu os amo!!!! Eu amo todos vocês!!!

just before the end of the third season they presented a story that could nothing else but beloved.first i liked the outdoor shooting, which was a welcome change to the usual studio look.after max showed for another time his anxiety about loosing fran to another guy,we got this wonderful family vacation.the trip of fran, max and the children was one of the most romantic moments of the season(above all the fantastic sunset)and max finally showed some passion when he stepped after fran in her bikini.(who wouldn' react to that?!)i also liked max behavior in respect to steve.very funny and romantic.on the other hand it was a little bit illogical that fran did not recognized the obvious feelings of max, after she picked on him so many times in the last episodes.so in some way her relation to steve disturbed the romantic emotions that increased in " Ship Of Frans ".another little logical mistake was that fran also did not recognize max as the man of her dreams(just like the fortune teller had told her),after it had became totally clear that he was thwe man of her dreams in the third season. ok it was the typical style of the show, but nevertheless i think it was some kind of unfortunate.in addition to this trains of thoughts i wonder about the fact that niles not interested in max' words about his feelings for fran.wasn't it very unusual for him!?as of the main story there wasn't much space for some extra action.but i enjoyed cc as a lucky charm for niles(ppor man...but maybe it was another of amors hints!?)and the mad play of yetta.all in all a great episode with a lot of romance, respectivly fran/max action.

Well, actually it's not necessary to add anything. Just absolutely great, funny, romantic! Every single minute makes you see that Fran and Max are just made for each other. I've got the impression that the episodes towards the end of each season are always the best ones.

It was real cute.. I remember when I first saw it thinking that they looked like a real family- mom, dad, and kids- when walking along the beach. It was so adorable!

An enjoyable episode with nice scenery, in many ways ;-)Thanks to CC, for a change Niles couldn't lose. On the other hand, poor Maxwell just couldn't win this time. We always talk about how Max doesn't admit his feelings for Fran but on the cruise, Fran seemed oblivious to Maxwell's feelings. Oh well, we know it eventually turned out positively for them in the long run.

I love Fran sooo much she has inspierd me a lot if she reads this tel her i love her and i want to see her smile in real in front of me thank you

i really liked it when said spin me 234

Loved the episode, loved the music, loved all the sub-stories, loved the sunset, loved it all! (97 pounds British? no Yiddish! -- LOL!)

Wasn't their dance scene great?! However, it looked like they cut some out in the middle. I bet there was more--maybe in the original version. I've just got the syndicated version on tape. Anyone know? The secondary part about Yetta holding on to people so she wouldn't fall was cutely played up, too. I also loved most of the costuming in this episode--all the white and navy nautical look. I actually bought the star fish earrings Yetta was wearing in this ep. when I was at Reel Clothes. Yeah!

what can i say but wow! this is just such a great ep.! it is so romantic and funny--a perfect nanny ep. the best p[arts are : the end of the day at the sunset( and that dream kiss of mine, which never actually happend). also; the dance on the water- the best! again maxwell showed how much he cared for fran, and again( just like in the "kindervelt days ) he didn't let her down!well done! i just hope that the nannny is going to keep delighting us again and again! oh, boy , i just love it!

je adore The Nanny! Fran est drole et Max est un homme trop beau. AVOIR!

3.26 Pup In Paris

Mr. Sheffield is going to Paris to try to talk some good investment sense into his younger brother. Unfortunately, he picks up Chester's dog carrier instead of his bag and Fran chases him onto the plane to switch the bags back. But the plane is airborne before she can get off and they are off to Paris together. Written by: Diane Wilk. Nigel Sheffield: Harry Van Gorkum, Eartha Kitt as herself, Flight Attendant: Dorothy Lyman, Tim Bagley, Philippe Bergeron, Philip Lehl.

Our responses (44) gave the episode a 9.0 overall, a 8.4 for the comedy, and a 9.5 for romance.

This was a really great episode, I love the part with yetta saying " boy she don't feed him enough" and the part with fran on the plane when she says i like the window seat too, the face max makes is great. One of the best episodes, and the best in the third season

another wonderful ep! one of my absolute favorites, as a matter of fact. paris is such a romantic city! tens across the board, again!

This episode was definetly one to remember

Nice episode. The final part is a CLASIC!!

Finally some romance that was long overdue!! Great ep! Truly a classic Nanny episode!!

I thought the whole Love on the rocks thing was cute and Maxwell and Nigel fighting was cute. And the little sexual inuendos from Fran were made it very interesting. And I love the end! I have those Immortal words"Fran I love you!" on my rioport audio manager!

How can ya not love this episode?!?! IT WAS GREAT!!! Max and Fran were really cute together- it's a shame they cut out so much of the Paris walk in syndication-still good though! Of course, it's always disappointing when these two get so close but not quite, but this ep is a great set-up for what's to come!

I'd been watching the show for a quite a while, but when I saw this episode, I became absolutely addicted! I love it and it's one of my alltime favorites.

Great episode, I love it! :0)

I sooo loved this ep, and I think it marks the beginning (in my mind)of Fran and Max's relationship~~~ all in all, 2 thumbs up!!!

One of my top 10. Great scenery, some excellent lines: "What would a man and a woman do in Paris together ?" and "Take me ---- Shopping !" Great ending too :-)

This is the only episode besides the wedding I gave straight 10's! From Max's "Love on the Rocks" to the final kiss, LOL! Max seemed very natural undressing in front of Fran, and Nigel's face when he found out the kids were still in New York was priceless (I get it, nanny, spank, spank!). Nigel may not have seen his brother for 4 years, but he still knew how to push Max's buttons with ALW name! Max seemed VERY jealous (despite the fact nothing (?) was going on between them!) when Fran asked Nigel how tall he was- 6'2"? and Nigel said 3 and Max pouting in the corner mumbled '1 1/2'! The montage was so-o-o romantic! I'm surprised my tape isn't worn out- I've watched that scene 50 times at least! I love Fran's line, "Oh, Tish, I love it when you speak French!" One question- who does that arragement of "I Love Paris"? I've only heard Frank's version, and I know it's not him! Overall, a wonderful episode!

you know, you can give me a HEART attack with that thing. i just loved it. sure you all know what my fave. part was! i juust dont know what would i be like without the nanny. thank you, nanny, thank you for keeping me alive(i'me actually youung, but still) bue!

Loved the Paris stroll part. Was extremely disappointed with the ending. It was like they led us on and then slapped us in the face. But at least it was a start toward Max verbally admitting his feelings if even for a moment.

I thought it was great when max told fran he loved her:)

it was a great episode! With lot of fun and romance.

Best ep ever!!!!

in spite of some outstanding episodes,we had seen in the third season, they managed it to saved the best for last."Pup In Paris" had exactly the plot the fans wanted to see as an season finale.the max/fran love story broke into a new dimension,as one of the protagonists spoke out his feelings for the other one for the first time.of course it was logical that max made the first step, after we had seen him in love for fran so many times in the third season.simultaneous "Pup In Paris" had everything that the last weeks episode had missed:some conrete Fran/max action and at the end the three most important words of the world.but the end was only the crowning event of THE highlight of the season.what could have been better than this romantic plot in paris(naturally the shooting in the city of love was the perfect location).the scenes of fran and max were so romantic and sweet that after all it was the most romantic episode yet.it was great to see that max took the handicap of the flirting fran and had that day with his sweetheart.i also think that it was a huge advantage for the series that they went to france.the location gave "The Nanny" some extra class.so even without the fantastic end, when i was completly overwhelmed that max finally said it to her(hhm maybe fran should have told him his feelings too)the episode would have been it's place in the all time top ten.in the same way i liked the whole episode,i liked the idea of a cliffhanger.what can be more interesting than the element of tv-series that creates the most tension.on the other side it was,of course, nearly unbearable to spend the time between the two seasons.in addition to the romantic stuff, maxwell's brother nigel was a great character.as the exact opposite of max,it was nigel, who,as niles'representative, called max'attention to the fact that there was some love between him and fran.for the comical part it was funny to hear about the TWA origin of some fine-family-property,the reason why all hotels in paris were busy and the way niles confronted cc witht the max/fran news from paris.so after all i couldn't say everything of the thoughts i dealt with when i saw "Pup In Paris" first(and everytime i see it again).it is too good for words and the first episode in which the romance nearly completly got the upper hand of the comedy.

i love the nanny and it is hard to not give all the episodes tens.

This was a really good episode, I loved it!

How could you not love it?!?!? Nice to meet Nigel, too. One of the best episodes -- loved the cliffhanger, too.

One of the best!It is very funny as it seems that Maxwell hears Fran´s voice in his headphones during the flight. Also as Fran takes the champagner which was for another passenger or as Maxwell discovers Fran in the luggageroom. But I think it is really a very romantic episode, for example as they are lying on the bed together and their looks meet each other and also her question what people can do in a couple of hours in Paris - an then the Paris Shopping Trip! And the most important romantic scene of course is the key scene for the following three seasons on the flight back to N.Y. as Maxwell tells Fran that he loves her! One of the best in my opinion.

This was one of my most favorite episodes. Loved the romance =)

i love it! absolutely great, fabulous! well done!
