How to create a public_html folder on the OU server
Open another page in  your browser so that you will be able to refer tback to this page for instructions. I suggest you tile them next to one another so that you can easily move between them.

Go to: http://www.cns.ohiou.edu/web/

Which will take you to the following page:

OAK Webpage Setup - First Step

And then click on this link:

Creating and managing your Oak web space:

And click on: “Easy OAK webpage setup”

You will then be directed to a page that says:
Please, select which webpage you would like to setup, and click on the button "Proceed with Setup"

Click on the “Unrestricted Access Webpage” button. (Any user on the Internet can access this webpage) and click on the button "Proceed with Setup"

OAK Webpage Setup- Second Step
You will see a page that says something like:
Unrestricted Access Webpage
And User Timothy Scott Vickers (username tv311789) has the following webpage setup:
 WEBPAGE DOES NOT EXIST

 The above has the following meaning:
 Your Unrestricted Access Webpage does not exist. Your Option(s):
Select “Create Web Directory” Button

 This will create directory for your Unrestricted Access Webpage, in which you will store all of your HTML documents. The newly created directory will not be enabled by default. You will need to explicitly enable it whenever necessary

OAK Webpage Setup- Final Step
Next you should see a window that says:
 “Success!!”
STOP HERE!
We will create your “index.html” file and upload it in class

 Last operation was successful. Unrestricted Access Webpage
 User Timothy Scott Vickers (username tv311789) has the following webpage setup:
 WEBPAGE IS NOT ENABLED, NO DEFAULT PAGE
 The above has the following meaning:
 Internet users cannot access your Unrestricted Access Webpage, because global access to your Webpage is currently not enabled.
 Your Unrestricted Access Webpage does not have default HTML file index.html or index.htm. Your Option(s):
 Click on this button to enable access to your Unrestricted Access Webpage for any Internet users.
 This will generate a very basic HTML file and store it as the default file for your webpage. The system will make a copy of the existing default file, if any, and store it as file index.html .CURRENT_DATE on your OAK account.
Click “Enable Access” button
